CENTROS ACQUIRES HODDESDON TOWER CENTRE
Centros has acquired the ailing 1960s-built Tower Centre in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, from UBS. The 40-unit, 120,000 sq ft retail centre is anchored by Argos, Superdrug and Lloyds but many of the units are currently vacant. John Marsh, development director of Centros, commented: "The Tower Centre has clearly failed to find its feet in these difficult times despite some relatively recent investment by its previous owners. But we have looked at it very carefully and believe that a more radical revamp can assist with the regeneration of Hoddesdon town centre."The fresh designs will be revealed later this year when there will also be an opportunity for the public to comment before a formal planning application is made.
Douglas Stevens & Co acted for Centros.
